Relationships for care leavers

We will support you to develop and maintain positive relationships with your family and friends.  Your Pathway Plan will detail any specific individual support you will receive.

Lifelong Links

In Warrington we have a Lifelong Links offer, this aims to make sure that you have a positive support network around you.  A Lifelong Links Co-ordinator can meet with you and use some tools to help you think about who is important to you and who you would want to be back in touch with. The co-ordinator searches for these people.  This support network is then brought together by what we call a lifelong links family group conference.  This will be with the family, friends, professionals or people you have identified that you want in your life plan.  The co-ordinator will help to put your life long links plan in place.  This will help these relationships to grow safely and will support you into adulthood and for your future.  We will review the time you spend with your family and people that are important to you in accordance with your wishes and feelings, however we remain mindful of the need to keep you safe and any specific individual risks will need to be addressed. Your lifelong links plan will continue to be reviewed as part of your Pathway Plan.

As detailed in the ‘financial’ section of this document, we will support you to spend time with family and friends prior to you reaching 18 and post 18, we will consider contributing to the cost of transport where there is the need.  Specific details according to your individual needs will be detailed in your Pathway Plan.
