Warrington Sensory Loss and Telecare Team
Warrington Borough Council's sensory and telecare team provides services for people with hearing or sight loss. We provide a comprehensive and confidential service which is tailored to your individual needs and aims to help improve your quality of life.
Hearing loss services include:
- Qualified and experienced social work staff
- Specialist equipment workers offering assessment, advice and support
- Providing assistive technology equipment
- Support workers offering practical help with issues such as completing forms, telephone calls and clarification of letters and other correspondence
- Highly qualified, self employed professionals who can provide interpreting support
Visual impairment services include:
- A specialist worker who can support you to carry out everyday tasks and increase your independence
- Help you to use your remaining vision and other senses as effectively as possible
- Home visits to identify the particular problems you face and offer advice and practical help on possible ways of dealing with them
- A wide range of equipment to help you in your day-to-day life, and how to use it
- Help with handwriting, keyboard skills and Braille
- Help with mobility - regaining confidence, getting to local shops and amenities, using public transport
- Give advice to your family and friends
