Young Enterprise

Please note that this information has been extracted from the Young Enterprise website:

Why we are here:

Many young people are not developing the skills they need for the future. Over 790,000 are not in education or employment and employers are reporting they don’t have the right skills.

We work with young people before they become just another unemployment statistic and support them to develop the employability skills that employers demand, by delivering enterprise and financial education programmes in schools, colleges and universities.

What we do:

Prevention is better than cure. Our programmes offer a journey, from gaining knowledge, through to developing skills and changing attitudes, arming young people with the confidence knowledge and skills to succeed.

From CV writing and interview preparation skills, to understanding how to manage money and even setting up and running a real business for a year, our programmes provide hands-on practical learning.

Our programmes are delivered with the support of a network of 7,000 local, experienced business advisers, giving young people the chance to learn from a professional. We help educational centres develop links with their local business community, and have staff on hand to fully support our programmes.

How can you help:

We’re a charity and rely on donations from our generous supporters to reach out to young people. You can help by giving your time, expertise or simply by donating.

Today’s young people face an uncertain future. Each year we support over 250,000 students to realise their potential but there are hundreds of thousands more who need out help.
