Staying Home Service / OK Each Day Service

This service has been designed to assist people living in Torus bungalow accommodation to live safely, securely and independently– for longer. The Staying Home team can assist with tasks such as:

  • Referrals to Occupational Therapy to arrange aids or adaptations.
  • Help filling in forms and setting up direct debits.
  • Assistance with getting online.
  • Budgeting support and money management.
  • Annual property health and safety check.
  • Advice on energy saving and staying warm.
  • Wellbeing assessment.
  • Advice and support gaining access to other support services and agencies.

The Staying Home Team also oversee the OK Each Day Service. Each bungalow has been allocated a phone or mobile device to allow tenants to press on a daily basis to let Torus know that they are safe and well. If a person does not press before an agreed time, an escalation process is in place to follow up and locate that person using emergency contacts and partner agencies. The OK Each Day device also allows tenants to report repairs, contact Torus, receive urgent messages and also a reminder service. Calls are managed by fully trained staff.
