Willow Green is a training provision for learners with additional needs from age 19-25.
Supported Internships at Willow Green
Starting a new job is a nerve wracking experience for anyone but can be more of a challenge for young people with learning difficulties. That’s why supported internships were designed for people aged 16 to 24 who want to work towards employment but need support to do so.
It helps young people achieve their ambitions by offering them work skills/experience through Supported internships.
How does it work?
- An internship placement is tailored to meet the needs of the young person.
- Minimum of two days per week in a work placement including weekly supervised progress reviews between the intern, supervisor and placement officer.
- A full programme of study one day per week at Willow Green featuring functional skills English and Math’s and City and Guilds employability certificate.
- Boosts a young person’s C.V with a recognised work based reference.
- Minimum of six months in work placement.
- Provides the skills and confidence for job applications and interviews.
