Specialist Day Services Gorse Covert Day Centre
Gorse Covert Day Centre is a purpose-built centre offering specialist day services to adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
Staff are trained to support individuals with complex health needs i.e. PEG feeds, react to red (Tissue viability) Complex Eating & Drinking.
Trusted Advanced practitioner in moving & Handling on site to complete moving & Handling assessments.
Specialist equipment available e.g. smart chairs, air comfort chairs, air flow bed.
Sensory rooms include Hydrotherapy, Jacuzzi, snoozle rooms available.
Partnership working with District Nurses, Physio, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapists, dietitian, Tutors from Warrington Vale Royal, MRHMC re college courses.
Activities include gardening at the allotment with raised beds poly tunnel and disabled toilet.
Transport available during day to access community groups and day trips
Rebound therapy.
Dance / Drama
Cycling.
Beauty Therapy.
Sensory Yoga.
OMI Vista (interactive projector)
Free Wi Fi available.
Specialist Day services also work in partnership with Short Breaks respite service.
This service is aimed at clients with Learning Disabilities, Profound Multiple Learning disabilities, Autism, Physical Disabilities and acquired brain injury

Referrals can be made via social worker, the individual, family member, advocate etc.
Referrals can be made by telephone, email or face to face.
Would require an up to date full needs assessment where possible.
Further assessment will be completed by catalyst staff during visits or taster sessions.
