NHS healthcare for the armed forces community

The NHS provides healthcare information, services and support for the UK's 10 million-strong armed forces community, including serving personnel, reservists, families and veterans...

NHS Direct

The NHS Direct website has a military and veterans' health care section which covers a broad range of health issues which may be affecting you. It also includes links to support services.

Priority NHS treatment for veterans

If you're a veteran of the armed forces, you are entitled to priority access to NHS hospital, primary and community care for any condition which is related to your time in service.

However this is subject to the clinical need of others, i.e. you won't be able to 'jump the queue' ahead of someone else with a higher clinical need.

Please tell your GP, and any other NHS service you are dealing with, that you are a veteran - and that therefore you may be entitled to priority treatment.
