IV Therapy (Intravenous Therapy)

The Intravenous Therapy service is an “admissions avoidance” service provided by Bridgewater to enable the residents of Warrington to access intravenous therapy treatment within their home environment.

The term intravenous (IV) is used when medication is given to you into a vein.

Conditions treatable in the community by the Intravenous Therapy Team:

  • Cellulitis (soft tissue and skin infections)
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Chest infections (acute)
  • Urine infections (acute)
  • Spinal infections
  • Infections of the bone
