Safe-buy scheme

SAFE-buy Scheme - safe, affordable family equipment

Every year thousands of children are injured and many die from accidents in the home. Many of these accidents could be prevented by putting medicines out of reach, adding cupboard locks to cleaning cupboards and installing suitable safety gates in your home, and the homes of grandparents or other regular carers.

SAFE-buy is a scheme that allows parents and family members with children under the age of five to buy safety equipment at a reduced rate from the high street.

All you have to do is:

  • register with your local children's centre
  • pre-order the equipment that you require
  • arrange to collect the equipment from your local children's centre

Items at a reduced rate include stairgates, pressure mounted gates, fireguards, cupboard and drawer catches and socket covers.

For more information or to reserve items contact your local children's centre.
