CGL Pathways to Recovery (drug and alcohol service, and support groups)

Change Grow Live Pathways to Recovery support adults and families who are struggling with drugs or alcohol.  They are a free and confidential service and are open to anyone experiencing difficulties with drugs or alcohol in Warrington.

It offers:

  • An experienced team of health and care staff, nurses and doctors
  • Needle exchange and health promotion
  • Psychosocial and medical assessment
  • Testing and vaccinations for blood borne viruses
  • Medical interventions including Methadone and Espranor prescribing
  • Naloxone – a drug that can stop the effects of overdose
  • Community detoxification
  • Referral and assessment for residential rehabilitation and detoxification
  • Programs and support offered for those involved in the criminal justice system
  • Harm reduction and abstinence based treatment
  • Life skills training
  • Assertive outreach in Warrington
  • Employment and training support
  • A comprehensive timetable of groups to help establish and maintain motivation for recovery.
  • Links to recovery coaches, fellowships and peer led support

They have a dedicated service for young people aged 10 to 18 who live and/or attend school in Warrington. Their specialist team provide confidential support and advice to young people worried about drugs and/or alcohol.

They are community based, which means they can meet young people where they feel comfortable, such as a school or community venue.

Their services include prevention work in schools, targeted community sessions and one to one support.

CGL Pathways to Recovery is town centre-based and a short walk from Warrington Bus Station and the Golden Square Shopping Centre. You will find them on the junction of Bold Street and Museum Street, facing the library/museum.

CGL Pathways to Recovery run an open-access service, meaning 6 days a week you can just walk in and ask to see someone about your needs. You will then have a one-to-one intervention with a Recovery Co-ordinator, who will assess your needs and agree a plan of action to meet those needs. You can also call or email. Alternatively, you can speak to your GP, your support worker, mental health practitioner or housing officer who can refer you to Pathways, and they will contact you and agree a date for you to come in.
