Fox Wood School has a Lead Engagement Model Trainer who will be delivering training in the use of the DfE Engagement Model which becomes statutory in September 2020.

"The Engagement Model is an assessment tool to help schools support pupils who are working below the level of the National Curriculum and not engaged in subject-specific study. The Engagement Model must be used for pupils at KS1 and KS2 who are working below the standard of the national curriculum assessments and not engaged in subject-specific study. Subject-specific study occurs where a pupil can demonstrate recognisable and specific skills, knowledge and understanding in English language comprehension and reading, English writing and mathematics.  Pupils assessed using the Engagement Model are usually described as having severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties."
